What is a Chain Lubricants?
A chain is a serial assembly of connected pieces, called links, typically made of metal. The chain links are usually connected with chain joints comprised of pins and bushings.
Chain lubrication is needed mainly to protect the pins and bushings in the chain joints from wear, to flush out wear debris and foreign materials, inhibit rust and corrosion, carry away heat, cushion impact force and smooth the chain’s engagement with the sprocket. Effective chain lubrication solutions will prolong chain elongation issues and extend the lifespan of the whole chain.

Frequently Asked Questions
Chains fails in 3 common ways:
1) | Tensile | Chain is overloaded in tension until it is stretched so badly it will not function properly, or it is pulled apart. |
2) | Fatigue | The chain is loaded repeatedly in tension, at a load below the yield strength (the chain is not stretched), until microscopic cracks develop in the link plates or sidebars. These cracks continue to grow until the chain breaks. |
3) | Wear | Material is removed by sliding or sliding combined with abrasion or corrosion until the chain will not function properly (will not fit the sprockets) or the remaining material is so thin that it lets the chain break. |
KEEP THE MOTION WITH THE LEAST FRICTIONS
From as simple as a door hinge at home to sophisticated types of machinery bearings that moves during production, adequate lubrication will significantly reduce the friction of these moving parts. Hence the wear and tear are minimized. The key to a smooth motion of the moving parts is applying the suitable lubricant with the proper means. Our engineers at BiOG International Sdn Bhd have many success stories to share and are ready to assist at your doorsteps.

The conveyor chain in the Glove Production line is exposed to a harsh working environment and yet must operate continuously. It therefore requires great attention to effective lubrication solutions.
